Description of Orient

The small village is situated in the middle of the Serra de Tramuntana on the mountain road leading from Alaro to Buñyola and is the perfect starting point for many demanding hikes in the Tramuntana. There is an excellent restaurant right next to the main road which is regularly full on weekends. In Orient also a sensationally good wine is cultivated which it only in the surrounding restaurants as well as in some of the bakeries of the surrounding villages. There are very few real estates to buy or rent there and if nevertheless, this is usually not offered on the market but finds its buyer or tenant usually immediately by recommendations and verbal marketing.

Worth seeing in and around the town:

The small parish church of San Jordi dates from the 13th century, was rebuilt in the 17th century and is considered an art-historical gem. Inside, there is a small gold host shrine (1686) and a dark altarpiece with a Madonna of Roses and the picture of Saint Catalina from Valldemosa.

The luxury hotel L'Hermitage is located in a former monastery with a beautiful garden. A little south of Orient, near the Son Pou estate, is the S'Avenc de Son Pou cave, which is up to 50 metres high and has partially collapsed.
