Obligation to report tenants-changes
The landlords of holiday properties in Mallorca are obliged to inform the police daily about departures as well as arrivals in their vacational complexes.

According to the Director General of Tourism, all holiday property providers in Mallorca are obliged to inform the police daily of any changes in tenants in their properties, both when guests leave and when they arrive. This obligation will be included in the Tourism Law and the regulations that will then regulate all tourist rentals on the islands. At present, there are 9,279 holiday homes registered with the Tourist Office in Mallorca alone. The decree is intended to close an existing legal gap in this area of housing offers.
"The owners or operators of these apartments will be obliged to report any change of tenant to the police, even if this occurs daily, as is the case for all other tourist accommodation such as hotels, apartments and all regulated offers. This is another security and control measure," stresses the Director General of Tourism.
The problem in Mallorca and the other islands is that all tourist accommodation that is not currently regulated must comply with this legal measure at all costs, at the latest by the time the government approves the regulation at the end of the year and includes it in the Tourism Act.
